Featured Athlete: Lebron James


Lebron James is one of the most renowned athletes in the world today. He is a four-time NBA Most Valuable Player and has been the face of the NBA for well over a decade. His accomplishments and accolades have been numerous, from being the all-time leading scorer in the NBA playoffs to having the most consecutive games with a triple-double. He is considered by many to be the greatest basketball player of all time.


Lebron has been a part of the NBA since 2003, when he was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers as the number one overall pick. He quickly made his mark in the league, becoming the youngest player to score 40 points in a game and the youngest to be named an NBA All-Star. During his time in Cleveland, he led the Cavaliers to their first-ever NBA Finals appearance in 2007 and was named the NBA Most Valuable Player of the year in 2009. He left the Cavaliers in 2010 to join the Miami Heat, where he went on to win two championships in four years. In 2014, Lebron returned to the Cavaliers and led them to four consecutive NBA Finals appearances and their first championship in 2016.


Lebron has been known not only for his on-court success but also for his off-court philanthropy. He has donated millions of dollars to charities, including his own foundation, which focuses on helping children in underserved communities. He is also very active in the fight against racism and police brutality, using his platform to speak out against injustice and to bring attention to people of color who are often marginalized or forgotten.
